Ian Alistair Gosbee is an award-winning, multi-talented artist whose passion for music and the arts has driven a remarkable career spanning over three decades. Based in Nova Scotia, Ian is celebrated as a singer-songwriter, DJ, multi-instrumentalist, actor, and author. His heartfelt songs, vibrant performances, and diverse creative projects have earned him widespread recognition across Canada and internationally.
Ian’s accolades include winning the ECMA Honorary Stompin’ Tom Award for Nova Scotia, being a two-time Music Nova Scotia nominee, a six-time World Songwriting Awards nominee, a seven-time International Singer-Songwriters Association International nominee, and a three-time Elite Music Awards nominee. He’s also a two-time Josie Music Awards nominee, was crowned the CBC Searchlight Mainland Nova Scotia winner, and recently won the InterContinental Music Awards for North America (Alternative) for his book Sound Mind: Mental and Emotional Wellness for Musicians.
A dedicated advocate for the music community, Ian has served as a juror for respected organizations such as FACTOR, ECMA, Music PEI, Music NB, Music NS and the JUNO Awards, helping to shape the future of Canadian music. With a discography of eight full-length albums, Ian effortlessly weaves together elements of folk, rock, country, funk, and instrumental jazz, showcasing his versatility and depth as an artist.
Outside of music, Ian is a sought-after DJ for weddings and special events, playing festivals and continues to share his knowledge through writing and mentoring. His dedication to giving back is reflected in honors from Government House Halifax for over three decades of volunteer service.
