About me

Ian Alistair Gosbee is a versatile and accomplished artist renowned for his diverse talents as a DJ, singer-songwriter, actor, writer, and multi-instrumentalist. He has built a strong reputation as an exceptional musician, achieving impressive success in Canada by reaching the top 10 charts, receiving extensive airplay on regional radio, and amassing a devoted fan base.

For more than two years, Ian held the coveted position of the number one artist on ReverbNation in Canada. His single "Life Gets In The Way" climbed to the impressive position of #10 on the esteemed East Coast Countdown, while also making a remarkable debut at #10 on the New Canadian Music Charts, which specifically highlight emerging artists. Ian's musical prowess earned him esteemed recognition, including being named the "Pick of the Week" by the Chronicle Herald and receiving the distinguished honor of "Song of the Day" by Music Nova Scotia. Furthermore, he achieved a spot in the Top 10 on OurStage.com, a notable achievement.  Ian secured a position among the top 10 finalists in the world songwriting competitions and America's Next Top Hitmaker.

Ian's exceptional musical abilities have been acknowledged through various competitions and platforms. He won the Honorary ECMA (East Coast Music Award) Stompin' Tom Award for Nova Scotia and was named the International Singer Songwriter Association's Pop Artist of the Month. He has been a finalist multiple times in the World Songwriting Contest and CBC's Searchlight contest.

Ian was selected to represent Mainstreet Nova Scotia in CBC Radio's highly regarded Searchlight competition, standing out among over 4,000 entries. His talent also garnered prominent exposure as he was featured on ReverbNation's homepage, a popular website for music enthusiasts. Ian claimed victory in the prestigious Long and McQuade's Head to Head Music Showcase for original music, as well as the Denmark Productions Recording Studio song contest. Furthermore, he was chosen as the featured artist for Music Nova Scotia and numerous radio stations, further solidifying his standing in the industry.

Ian's extensive experience and expertise in the music industry have granted him recognition as a valued juror for respected institutions such as FACTOR, ECMA, Music PEI, and JUNO. This acknowledgment further solidifies his position as a highly regarded musician and a consummate professional within the music industry.

With a diverse musical catalog spanning across six full-length albums, Ian effortlessly traverses genres, incorporating elements of folk, rock, country, and pop to create a captivating and multifaceted body of work.

He has also received honours from Government House Halifax for his volunteer service.
